Your Team Captain
The person creating the team will be designated as the Team Captain. The ideal choice for a Team Captain is someone with great communication and motivational skills. A successful Team Captain will:
• Encourage team members to raise money for The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing.
• Invite individuals to take the lead as coordinators of specific fundraising activities.
• Make participation in The Dempsey Challenge a unique and fun experience for the whole team!
Once logged onto the team webpage (requires User Name and Password), the Team Captain has multiple tools at their disposal. They have the ability to send emails to individual team members, to the entire team, and also to donors. Under the My Webpage tab the Team Captain will have the ability to tell the team story and upload a photograph under the Edit Team Webpage option. From the Reports tab the Team Captain can also monitor team donations.
About FundraisingThe fundraising minimum is $150 for all participants 18 and over. Team members can work together to raise their funds and have fun at the same time! The Dempsey Challenge website has great fundraising resources, with more being added all the time! Some great team fundraising ideas are hosting events such a bake sale, garage sale, car wash, bottle drive, spaghetti supper, pancake breakfast, and selling raffle tickets for donated items. We are pleased to also offer fundraising incentives at the individual participant level. For a complete list of these fundraising incentives please visit the Fundraising tab on the homepage of our website.

• Team members can gather before and after the ride on Sunday and run/walk on Saturday in a team area at Simard-Payne Police Memorial Park. The team area will feature a photo backdrop where teams can capture images for their scrapbook.
• Recognition is given to the team with the Most Team Members. The team with the Most Team Members is highlighted on our website and is awarded two tickets to the Champions for Hope Banquet on the evening of October 2nd.
