Dempsey Challenge Pole Walking/ free for Dempsey Challenge walkers (all teams) Anyone that has signed up or is planning to sign up for the Dempsey challenge 5k walk is welcome to join this Mon PM walking class. We will be using Nordic walking poles as a fun way to combine muscle endurance and aerobics in a walk. Muscle endurance is an important part of a wellness program to improve our quality of life.
There will be times participants will have to push themselves beyond comfortable levels; just as you might during the 5k. Nordic walking poles will help propel you along. If you are already a walker, poles will get you to the finish line faster. If you are just beginning a walking program, walking poles will give you the confidence and assistance you need to make it to the finish line, without exhausting you.
