The Dempsey Challenge Community Celebration

The inaugural Dempsey Challenge Community Celebration will be held on Friday, October 12, the day before the weekend events officially kick off. Hosted by the Dempsey Challenge, L/A arts, Art Walk Lewiston Auburn as well as many restaurants/venues in Lewiston and Auburn! We’ll all be showcasing the best of L/A to thousands of participants, volunteers, national media and everyone else that is out and about in this community!

Downtown:

• Packet Pick Up at Simard-Payne Park, Lewiston, 2pm-8pm (Dempsey Challenge Participants Only)
• Shuttles from NorthEast Charter from Simard-Payne Park to downtown Lisbon St and back, 4:30 pm – 9 pm

• Art Walk L-A, with over 150 pieces submitted matching the theme  ‘Hope, Healing & Survival’, Downtown Lisbon St., 5 pm – 8 pm

• Dance & Spoken Word Performances

• Live music performances, Downtown Lisbon St.

  • Callahan Hall – Lewiston Public Library, 200 Lisbon St.

• Beer Tasting & wood-fired brick oven pizza at Forage Market, 5 pm – 8 pm
• Live music and $3.75 Guinness & Long Trail Double Bag “Black & Gold” drink special at She Doesn’t Like Guthries
• “Cash Mob“, meet in Journal Ally, next to Androscoggin Bank, Lower Lisbon St. with $20 to spend at an undisclosed local business. Gather at a local watering hole afterwards,  5:30 pm
• A flash mob, perhaps?
  
• Free appetizer samples, live belly dancing, and $2  well drinks and all drafts at Naral’s Restaurant & Bar
  
• Official after-party at Gritty’s Auburn with Dempsey Challenge Courage Ale on tap and live music by the Jason Spooner Trio, 8 pm – 12 pm
